Awards and Accreditations

Achieving British citizenship grants you full rights to live, work, and travel as a UK citizen. You can enter and leave the country without restrictions and enjoy the status that such one of the worlds most powerful passports offers.

For many people who have established a life in the UK, the moment they qualify to apply for British Citizenship is a culmination of years of hard work, planning and financial investment.  Being denied citizenship after investing so much of your life into the process can be devastating.  Therefore, it is essential to prepare a quality application for naturalisation to ensure a successful outcome.  Our legal team understand the value of British citizenship and will help you put together the best possible application and supporting evidence.

British Naturalization

If you are a foreign national who has resided in the UK for five years or more and you have held Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for a minimum of one year, you can apply for naturalisation as a British Citizen. You will need to have a clan criminal record, pass the Life in the UK and English language tests and meet the continuous residency requirements.

The “continuous residency requirements” mean that you need to demonstrate that you have lived in the UK for at least five years and during that time:

  • spent no more than 450 days outside the UK during those five years
  • spent no more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months

Our team of legal advisers can help you on your journey towards becoming a British Citizen. We will assess whether you are eligible for British Naturalisation, meet all of the legal requirements and can provide all of the necessary supporting evidence in the specified format.

Registration as a British Citizen

Naturalisation as a British Citizen is only available to individuals over the age of 18. Children under the age of 18 are required to apply for registration as a British Citizen. However, if your child was born after were granted indefinite leave to remain, the child shall not be required to apply for nationality and can apply directly for a British passport.

There are many other situations where a person may be able to apply for British Registration. We often assist Canadian and US citizens with British Registration applications where at least one of their parents were born in the United Kingdom.
